Speaker’s Biography

Muaz is a professional Civil Engineer with 23 Years of working experience in the construction industry with over 13 years in Airports projects. He has contributed to the design and construction management of many airports in the Middle East including Hamad International Airport (DOH), Dubai International Airport (DXB), Dubai Al Maktoom (DWC), Muscat (MCT) and Salalah (SLL). He is passionate to share his experience and continue his professional development focusing on airports. Since 2010 he has been working on the iconic HIA project, where he has contributed to its successful inauguration in 2014 and continues to participate in its further development. Muaz is a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers and Chartered Construction Manager with CIOB.

Topic Overview

Airports are contemporary pieces of civil infrastructure that comprise many sophisticated systems; most of these systems are unique and bespoke to airport system architecture. Airport Systems need to function as one entity for the successful operation of these complex facilities and so each system has to carefully planned and considered wrt its role, function, and interaction with the overall system to achieve a safe, efficient and secure airport. This presentation provides a general overview about these systems and the fundamental concepts of airport planning and design.
